every year, main publishes its activity report. For 2022-2023, the organization experienced another year full of projects that shaped the Quebec support ecosystem!
Some highlights:
PARTNERSHIP WITH THE QUEBEC RESEARCH FUND
This year, main the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) joined forces to create a space for research and society in innovative and scientific entrepreneurship. This space, dedicated to bringing together researchers in entrepreneurship and those involved in support, named PERSÉIS, will be co-managed by main and the FRQ until 2028. Its goal is to enable advances in entrepreneurial practices based on the concerns and needs of the Quebec ecosystem.
RAISE THE PI
main has been working since fall 2022 to implement the structural intellectual property initiatives that will be supported by this funding. All initiatives are expected to be operational during the second quarter of 2023-2024.
MOMENTUM
Over the past year, the Momentum service has continued to be implemented with a view to continuous improvement.
In March 2023, Momentum saw its agreement with the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy (MEIE) extended by six months in order to continue its activities supportingacceleration innovative businesses.
This extension will enhance the experience of around 50 companies already enrolled in the Momentum support service, enable around 50 more companies to join the service, and ensure continuity of service for these companies.
CONTINUUM STARTUP
This year, the Continuum Startup team iteratively deployed an initial version of tools for testing each of its phases (detection, diagnosis, referral, and follow-up). The deployment of these tools also makes it possible to coordinate the efforts of the various stakeholders and harmonize actions to increase their impact.
PUBLICATION OF A STARTUP TALENT BAROMETER REPORT
Published in July 2022, the Startup Talent Barometer aimed to take stock of the consequences of the main shortage on startups and identify possible solutions to enable support organizations to better assist startups in this reality.
