ACCEPTANCE AND APPLICATION

Mouvement des accélérateurs d’innovation du Québec (“MAIN” or “we” or “us” or “our”) provides you with this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) to inform you (“User” or “Users” or “you”) of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, retention, and disclosure of personal data and information that we receive from Users who use MAIN’s website (the “Site”), its products, and its services (the products and services hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Services”). This Privacy Policy applies to anyone using the Services.

We reserve the right at any time, in our sole discretion and without any liability, to update or modify the Privacy Policy without prior notice, and your continued access to or use of the Services or our Site constitutes your acceptance of the updated or modified Privacy Policy. If we modify it, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of the Privacy Policy. By continuing to access the Site or use the Services, you indicate that you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy. If you do not find the revised Privacy Policy acceptable, please do not use the Site or the Services. Be sure to check this page regularly to review the most recent version of the Privacy Policy.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

In this Privacy Policy, the term “Personal Information” refers to any information that relates to an individual and allows that individual to be identified, either directly or indirectly.
We collect the information you provide to us, for example when you:

  • use our Services;
  • Browse our website;
  • submit a comment or question through our Site by any means of communication or
  • on our social media accounts;
    agree to receive marketing communications via any means of communication;
  • complete a survey or poll, or enter a contest on our Site or our social media accounts;
  • would like to receive on-demand services;
  • provide us with any document containing Personal Information;
  • apply for or hold a position at MAIN;
  • Contact our customer support team or get in touch with us.

On each of these occasions, you may, among other things, provide the following Personal Information:

  • your contact information, such as your email address, mailing address, and phone number;
  • financial or banking information, such as your routing number, a copy of your check, or any other banking or financial information;
  • your Social Security number;
  • any information about your professional or personal background, including a biography;
  • any information related to your use of our Site, including cookies, your IP address, your preferences, and your interests;
  • any document that verifies your identity; and
  • any other personal information you choose to provide.

When you consent to it with third parties, we may obtain Personal Information about you from them, for example, when you register with such a party to participate in one of that party’s services, which are offered through that party’s website or mobile app or through our Services. We may automatically import certain Personal Information that you provide to that third party into your account to use our Services when you consent to it.

PURPOSES OF THE DATA COLLECTION

We collect your information, including:

  • To provide, maintain, operate, and improve the Services;
  • As part of our research and development and statistical analysis efforts, specifically to improve the user experience and understand your needs;
  • To carry out internal operations, including, for example, preventing fraud and misuse of our Services; resolving software and operational issues; conducting data analysis, testing, and research; and monitoring and analyzing usage and activity trends;

We expressly acknowledge that we will not use your Personal Information for any other purposes without your consent. Furthermore, we will collect Personal Information only to the extent necessary for the purposes mentioned above.

In addition, Personal Information may be used and disclosed to the extent that MAIN reasonably deems necessary to enforce the terms of an agreement between you and MAIN, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person or entity, or, if required by law, in particular, in response to a request from the relevant government authorities.

INFORMATION ABOUT SHARING

We do not sell, rent, or disclose to third parties the information we collect and store. You can expect us to share the information we collect with other parties in the following ways:

  • Service Providers: We have agreements with various service providers to facilitate the delivery of our Services, under which we may share the Personal Information we have collected. All administrative service providers we use are required to maintain the same level of protection for Personal Information as we do. Consequently, we expect your Personal Information to be treated with the same degree of care that we apply.
  • Statistical Analysis: We may share Personal Information and non-personal information that has been aggregated anonymously with third parties, including, but not limited to, for statistical, machine learning, advertising, or marketing purposes. No non-anonymized Personal Information will be shared in this manner.
  • Transactions: Transactions may occur in connection with or during negotiations for a merger, the sale of the company’s assets, any financing or acquisition, or in any other situation in which Personal Information may be disclosed or transferred as one of our business assets. However, under no circumstances will these transactions allow your Personal Information to be used for purposes other than those for which you have given us your consent.

RIGHT TO REVIEW INFORMATION

In accordance with applicable privacy laws, you have the following rights with respect to your Personal Information:

  • Right of Access: You may inquire whether we hold any Personal Information about you and, if so, request a copy of it. A fee may be charged for the transcription, reproduction, or transmission of this information.
  • Right to Correction: If your Personal Information is inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous, or if its collection, disclosure, or retention does not comply with or is not authorized by the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, RLRQ, c. P-39.1 (the “Act”), you may request that it be corrected.

WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT

You may withdraw your consent to the retention of your Personal Information at any time by sending a written request to requetes-ti@mainqc.com. Upon receipt of your notice of withdrawal of consent, we will stop retaining your Personal Information within a reasonable period of time, which will vary depending on the Personal Information we have collected and the purpose for which we collected it. Please note that we will send you a confirmation email upon receipt of your request. Please note that if you choose to withdraw your consent, your experience using the Services and browsing our Site may no longer be optimal, and you may no longer have access to all of our Services and our entire Site.

PROMOTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

You can choose not to receive promotional messages from us by following the instructions at the bottom of those messages. If you unsubscribe, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those regarding the Services you have requested or our ongoing business relationship.

COMPLAINT

You can file a complaint regarding the collection, use, destruction, retention, or protection of your Personal Information at requetes-ti@mainqc.com. Please note that we will respond to your complaint within 7 business days.

SAFETY

Security measures have been implemented with respect to the Services to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of Personal Information under our control. Please note, however, that no data security measure can be guaranteed to be completely effective. Therefore, we cannot certify or guarantee the security of Personal Information or other information. You provide Personal Information to us at your own risk.

EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SELF-EMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS

MAIN engages other companies and/or individuals to perform functions on its behalf. For example, we may engage third parties to develop software applications and/or database functions or to send communications on our behalf. Your Personal Information may be disclosed to these parties in the course of MAIN’s business operations. All MAIN employees, agents, affiliates, and independent contractors working for MAIN who have access to your Personal Information are required to protect that information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy. Your Personal Information will be shared with them only to the extent necessary for them to perform their duties.

EXTERNAL LINKS

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites that you may click on while using our Services or while browsing our Site, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

SHELF LIFE

We will retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collect it or to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations. Once this period has expired, we may anonymize your Personal Information to the extent permitted by law.

STORAGE FACILITIES AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER

Your Personal Information is stored, among other places, via a cloud service whose servers are located in the United States, where data protection laws may not provide a level of protection similar to or adequate to that of your jurisdiction. By agreeing to this Privacy Policy, you consent to the transfer and storage of your Personal Information in the United States.

In addition, your Personal Information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your jurisdiction, where laws regarding the protection of Personal Information may not provide a level of protection similar to or adequate to that of your jurisdiction. By agreeing to this Privacy Policy, you consent to such a transfer.

ELIGIBILITY

The Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. If MAIN becomes aware that Personal Information about individuals under the age of 18 has been inadvertently collected, it will delete such information without delay.
