Launch of Perséis, a research-company space for innovative and scientific entrepreneurship
Published on May 3, 2023
the quebec innovation accelerators movement (main) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) announce the creation of Perséis, a research-society space for innovative and scientific entrepreneurship. Perséis will be deployed under the joint management of main and the FRQ until 2028.
Perséis aims to mobilize stakeholders throughout all stages of the project co-construction process: from the formulation of research needs and questions to the dissemination, adoption, and evaluation of the impact of research results.
Over the next few years, Perséis will be punctuated by several calls for projects and networking events, the scope and criteria of which will be revealed as needs emerge and feedback is received from Quebec's innovative entrepreneurship ecosystem.
A first call for proposals has been launched to initiate collaborative research projects focusing on priority needs. For more information on the call for proposals, visit our dedicated webpage.
You can find more details about Perséis and the call for proposals on the Fonds de recherche du Québec website.
QUOTES
"Innovative and scientific companies are deploying innovative solutions and contributing significantly to the economic and societal transformations demanded by Quebec society. The collaborative approach that has made it possible to launch Espace Perséis has already brought the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the research community closer together. This is the beginning of encounters between different, multiple, and complementary approaches. The potential to fuel research niches and ways of doing entrepreneurship is palpable," says Rémi Quirion, Chief Scientist of Quebec.
"The organizations that support our entrepreneurs on a daily basis are more diverse and mature than ever before. However, skills development, the adoption of best practices, and the development of effective tools remain the ingredients of a globally competitive startup ecosystem. The creation of Perséis, a space for rich and sustained exchanges between supporters and the innovative and scientific entrepreneurship research community, promises to accelerate this development," continues Louis-Félix Binette, CEO of main.
