Are you going to Collision? Find out what we have in store for you this year!

for another year, main will be taking part in Collision, June 17-20 in Toronto. And once again, we are working closely with the trade mission led by Investissement Québec International (IQI), in partnership with the City of Montreal and in collaboration with the Quebec Office in Toronto, to create connections within the Quebec delegation that will be participating.

In this article, you will find tips on how to achieve your goals:

  1. help you prepare your networking

  2. maximize your impact

  3. live a mission in community

And to refresh your memory, we wrote a review after Collision 2023 with several practical tips.

GET READY TO NETWORK (AND GET SORE FEET)

To be effective in your meetings and better develop your business, make sure you are well prepared before arriving in Toronto.

  • Download the Collision app toplan your moments of inspiration—listening to talks, for example—and to write to the people who will be there.
  • Make your appointments as soon as possible with the investors or partners you want to talk to, as it is highly likely that the people you want to speak to are already busy!
  • Stay tuned for networking events and activities taking place in Toronto alongside Collision. These are excellent opportunities to continue conversations beyond the booths. In fact, the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec, together with the Quebec Office in Toronto, is organizing its Quebec Evening on Wednesday, June 19, at 5 p.m. Be sure to register!
  • Networking can also begin before you even arrive in Toronto, notably by taking the bus organized by Startup Montreal, which leaves Montreal on Monday morning at 9 a.m.
  • And one last pro tip: wear comfortable shoes; you'll be doing a lot of walking!

MAXIMIZE IMPACT ON THE GROUND

Like many trade missions abroad, Collision can overwhelm even the most seasoned travelers with its astronomical number of conferences and the multitude of people who attend.

To maximize the impact of your presence and achieve your goals, start by announcing your objectives to partners in Quebec and schedule your participation in activities and events that bring the most value.

If you are part of the IQI trade mission, the two preparatory sessions in Montreal and Quebec City were extremely useful in helping you get ready. If you missed them, here is a summary of the expert advice (summarized on LinkedIn by Vincent Lafrenaye Lamontagne of MT Lab):

  1. Take advantage of the event to obtain privileged information and explore investors' portfolios.
  2. Keep less relevant discussions as short as possible to maximize your time.
  3. Stay relaxed, friendly, and never give up. You have to accept that no one will sign a check tomorrow morning, and it's better to maintain cordial relations over the long term.

JOIN THE GROUP!

In collaboration with IQI, we have prepared a program just for you, to create moments of connection between Quebec, the rest of Canada, and the rest of the world!

What we have planned for you:

  • Tuesday 6 a.m.: running club
