Le Parachute unveils the program for Le Grand Saut, the flagship event for entrepreneurs' mental health.
Published on November 12, 2024
Organized by Le Parachute, Le Grand Saut is a day dedicated to the mental well-being of entrepreneurs. This unique event, which will be held on November 21 at Espace Quatre Cents in Quebec City, is aimed at entrepreneurs, support staff, experts, and public leaders in a spirit of support and collaboration.
Why The Big Leap?
Too often perceived as unshakeable "superheroes," entrepreneurs face many psychological and emotional challenges, but they still lack the resources to talk about them openly. Le Grand Saut aims to change the paradigm by providing a dedicated space to explore these crucial issues and find solutions together.
Le Grand Saut aims to normalize mental health as a fundamental pillar of entrepreneurial success. Breaking taboos, raising awareness, and taking action are at the heart of this initiative, led by Le Parachute, a coalition of actors committed to a more humane approach to entrepreneurship.
A rich and varied program
Between conferences, practical workshops, round tables, and panels, November 21 will be filled with inspiring moments and learning opportunities. Participants will hear testimonials from entrepreneurs, discover practical tools for managing stress and anxiety, and explore innovative approaches to promoting mental well-being.
Conferences and panels:
- Experts such as Charles Beaudry (MAIN), Louis-Pierre Charest (Centech), Étienne St-Jean (UQTR), and others will discuss the importance of mental health in innovative entrepreneurship, sharing perspectives from both research and coaching.
- Key figures such as Pascal Beauchesne (NUMANA), Philippe Beauregard-Totaro (École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce), Geneviève Desautels (Éduc’Alcool), Pierre Graff (Regroupement des jeunes chambres de commerce du Québec), Véronique Massin (Groupe Entreprises en Santé), and Nathaly Riverin (Persévérance entrepreneuriale) will share their perspectives on alternative approaches to entrepreneurship and discuss the initiatives they are spearheading to support entrepreneurs in their overall health.
- Speakers who work with entrepreneurs, such as Marie-Pier Boivin, Jessy Riel, and Marie-Ève Landry, will also be present and will talk about their respective experiences.
Workshops and activities:
- In addition to the conferences, interactive workshops are planned to provide participants with practical and applicable skills: Stéphanie Dupuis (THEMA STRATÉGIE) will lead a session on differentiating between stress and distress, and Julie Tremblay-Potvin and Marie-Andrée Mackrous (De Saison) will present a way to organize your work effectively using the Temps Blanc model.
- Active breaks are also planned with the Ludo app, which will allow participants to refocus and revitalize themselves.
Round tables and consultation:
- The program also includes roundtable discussions, such as the one led by David Gobeille-Kaufman (Mangrove) on the future of mental health for entrepreneurs. These opportunities for dialogue will be invaluable for co-creating solutions and developing roadmaps for mental health in the business world.
An evening hosted by Fuckup Nights
- To conclude the day, participants are invited to an authentic sharing session with Fuckup Nights Québec, an opportunity to discover stories of professional failures in a relaxed atmosphere conducive to discussion.
The Big Leap, an initiative by Le Parachute
Le Grand Saut is not an isolated event. It is part of a broader initiative called Le Parachute, which, through awareness-raising and intervention activities, embodies a movement for more humane and resilient entrepreneurship.
This initiative, launched in the National Capital Region in 2020, has now expanded to 13 regions across Quebec thanks to the involvement of 48 referral organizations, which have provided 275 hours of psychological support to more than 70 innovative entrepreneurs since last May.
Le Grand Saut is madepossible thanks to financial support from Quebec City's Vision entrepreneuriale
Québec 2026 (Entrepreneurial Vision: Quebec City 2026) initiative and financial contributions from Quebec's Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy (MEIE) as part of Le Parachute project, an initiative led by the Mouvement des accélérateurs d'innovation du Québec (Quebec Innovation Accelerators Movement).
